Entrance of Hôpital Biamba Marie Mutombo in Kinshasa

Health

Biamba Marie Mutombo Hospital

Opened July 17, 2007 in Kinshasa. Named for Dikembe's mother.

Dikembe grew up seeing what a lack of healthcare costs a family. The hospital he built in his mother's name turned that memory into a permanent institution of healing, and today it is a tertiary medical facility serving Kinshasa.

The people behind the care.

Patient visits, medical teams and the work Dikembe helped make possible.

The next chapter

Twenty years, and much still to do.

The hospital is both a testament to what has been accomplished and a reminder of how much work remains. Its 2026 assessment points to where help matters most:

  • Financial help for patients who cannot afford the full treatment pathway

July 17, 2027: 20 years.

We are looking for partners who can help bring specialized care closer to the people who need it.
